Biography

Cassidy Creek is a sculptor and materials specialist creating sculptures at the intersection on natural and man-made systems. Drawing on her background in ceramics, welding, and metal casting, she constructs architectural forms that blend modern and traditional building techniques. Her recent work focuses on researching environmentally supportive cements for art-making.

Alongside her studio practice, Creek teaches community ceramics and sculpture workshops, supporting a growing community of sustainable artists in the Gulf South. She is currently developing an regenerative oyster-lime plaster for natural building applications, an on-going experiment in the relationship between art, material, and place.

She has over 14+ years experience in art education including college level art courses, adult community education, K-8 Talented Art, museum workshops, after school programs, and experience teaching in both adult and juvenile detention centers. Creek earned her MFA in Studio Art with a concentration in sculpture from Louisiana State University in 2017. From 2011- 2013 she served as a resident artist and community educator at Red Star Studios in Kansas City.
